It was two years ago today that I said goodbye to Koko and "took her to college." She was 18 years old, so that was my gentler way of referring to the next step in her journey. It just sounded so much nicer and more ladylike than anything more direct. She had a blood tumor on her paw which was removed in January, but it regrew and there were kokopuffhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10057129733566004569noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21285232.post-61560133911349339012013-08-09T19:54:00.000-05:002013-08-25T17:33:32.515-05:00Parkdale SunsetSince my apartment windows face east, I don't see the sunset unless it is reflected in the building across from my kitchen window. Unfortunately I developed really bad allergies to her and nothing was working. My friend has two cats from the same breeder - one of whom is Etta's sister from the same parents - so Etta has gone to a very good home. As of yesterday, my little family doubled in size when she came to live with me. Etta was born in September 2010 to Norman and Zoey, at Shorlyne's Tonkinese. She's a platinum solid Tonkinese. Although I knew in October I was ready for another fur-friend, I didn't want to bring her home until I came back from Sweden. We did a little damage at the duty free shop in Copenhagen...can you tell what our individual vices are? After a little issue in customs (completely unrelated to the above shopping at the duty free!), we were in the limo and on our way home. I almost don't know what to say. It was an incredible experience to visit the Ice Hotel and to see and experience this in-person. Today I saw so much pretty. Danmark is extremely pretty. But I am starting to get overwhelmed by cobblestones, beautiful buildings and happy, blond children. I can't wait until I go to Kiruna - I'll bet there is nary a cobblestone in sight, and the Ice Hotel is only about three weeks old at this point.
