KIP Project Update: Goldilocks Shawl

KIP: sometimes Knitter lingo for "Knitting In Progress" (like WIP, Works In Progress), but usually Knitter lingo for "Knitted In Public". I think we should make Mrs. Peeps her own little warning tag for any knitted items that get gifted, something along the lines of "Handmade by Mrs. Peeps, Beware: KIP", since most of her public knitting also involves copious amounts of beer.

As you can see, I have taken it upon myself to play the role of quality and quantity inspector of Mrs. Peeps's knitting. Firstly, I think I see some wonky bits (yes, I believe that is the technical term used by knitters) which Mrs. Peeps insists is variations of the yarn where "Curly Mo" is more "Mo" and less "Curly" but which I think has a bit more to do with drunken knitten outings, and secondly, I think the quantity is, ahem, a little short. While it does appear that this bib is growing since the last post about it eons ago, it is nowhere near becoming a shawl. So even though Mrs. Peeps does keep lamenting that the ball of yarn is not shrinking at all, I think this probably bodes well for the finished shawl size (although, granted, "finished" may be not the perfect word selection here...)

I think the crux of both the quality/quantity problem is that when Mrs. Peeps was inspired to knit this shawl, she incorrectly remembered the gist of the children's tale: Goldilocks and the Three Beers.

Oh well. Prost! Skal! Slainte! Cheers! Bottoms up!

Yeah, I would strongly recommend starting another, shorter project to keep you going whenever you get involved with a shawl. Them suckers take FOREVER.
