In loving memory of my friend Toby

You may remember my friend Tobias to whom I introduced you in May in "A Tale of Two Kitties". I am very sad to tell you that my sweet natured friend passed away yesterday. He was a gentle and loving soul, and very photogenic. He will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by Miss Sarah, his brother Raphael, and his many friends and fans.

In his memory (since Toby didn't have his own blog), his friends are invited to share some memories of him in the comments section of this post.

Toby was a very noble beast. I'm going to miss him.

There is now a void in our lives with the absence of Toby. I already miss the bigness [not only his physique] of his personality. I will forever remember how he so loved to be brushed...his long white whiskers and his belly in particular. He was so patient too in awaiting his turn...as Raffy usually 'demanded' first crack at brushing. A momentous occasion happened just last month when Toby fully rolled over...unassisted...to expose his belly for grooming. Skidder [my kitty] and I lit a candle in his honour. Goodbye Mr. Toby.

I will miss Toby! Whenever I came for dinner and a visit with the boys, he was always so affectionate and entertaining. I will not forget how he liked to lie on his side and eat dinner (because it was more civilized that way and dinner IS meant to be enjoyed), nor the way he liked to weave a perilous path through the wine glasses to Miss Sarah's lap! He was a bit of a show-off as well, and did proudly display his whole lotta belly. He was a lovely cat, and he is very much missed.

We were all very sad to learn about Toby. He will clearly be missed and we, too, will light a candle for him (if Cleo promises not to eat it). Condolences to Miss Sarah.
