Mrs. Peep's Quest

Once upon a time, there was this lady named Mrs. Peeps. She had lots of friends. But there was always room in her circle for more friends. Especially if they were the angora goat kind of friends. Then room could in all likelihood be made.

Sometimes Mrs. Peeps went on quests to seek out special friends. Yesterday she met this duo in Elora, Ontario at Wellington Fibres. She wasn't sure about this pair. They weren't entirely clean and fragrance-free and up to her usual friend standards.

But they tried to (ahem) ply her with lovely tokens of hand-dyed mohair/wool as bribery. Both 2-ply and 3-ply. In a multitude of colours. 'Twas a good plan. Who could refuse friends who could produce such soft offerings, and on a regular basis?

In the end, Mrs. Peeps did not succumb to their wiles, but she did bring me home her spoils. I have to agree that the scent of our friends still lingers, but I am rather partial to it. It adds a certain je-ne-sais-quoi. Meet my new friends: yarn.

Win-win, as they say! If only she could have brought home a tuna-sandwich quarter from the Breadalbane Inn in Fergus, as I heard they were quite good. Then this story would truly have had a happy ending!

That's some great yarn...nice colors! The sheep are adorable, in their own little ways. You're adorable too Koko!
