Countdown to Good Night

The Oscar party started today at 2 pm. As you can tell from the photo, I am almost falling on my nose asleep, it's been such a long day. Luckily, it's close to bedtime for me and Mrs. Peeps. Mrs. Peeps is just cleaning up post-party. Fortunately Jon Stewart moved things along at a fair clip and the show ended promptly at 11:30 pm. It's a good thing, too, because these ladies are bagged after their long day of festivities.

Mrs. Peeps did very well in preparing for the Oscars, not including the impossible categories (shorts, docs, foreign). She did see all other movies in all other categories with the exception of two movies which were no longer in theatres or available on DVD (Howl's Moving Castle and The New World). The funny thing is, the more movies she sees, the worse she is at voting if she chooses what she thinks should win, versus what she thinks will win. Although I did see many of the movies on DVD with her, I never waiver from my voting strategy - nomination closest to the letter K (for Koko, obviously).

Final Oscar tally: Ms. Blonde One and Ms. Firefly Knit tied at 16, Koko at 11, Mrs. Peeps at 10. Mr. Peeps zero for nothing - he never participates (he was tucked away in bed well before the end)! Final Oscar verdict: Jon Stewart, two dewclaws up. (Hmmm. I wonder if that should be dewcli?) But the ladies really miss Joan Rivers on the red carpet; the other pre-shows just don't cut it.

Now that the Oscars are over, I can have Mrs. Peeps all to myself once again!

Good night.

Despite the verbal abuse from Mrs. Peeps and The Blonde One, I now know that Koko and I have a strong relationship based on respect and honesty. Not once, but *twice* did Koko and I snuggle on the couch.

You're dreaming, girlfriend. It was all part of my master plan to prove to you how cute I am! No honesty here, just pure vanity and trampiness.

sigh...koko hates me. She did not snuggle with me once....

Nooo - she doesn't hate you...she was just busy trying to win Ms. Firefly Knit over. Or perhaps you weren't in as good a snuggle position as Ms. Firefly Knit?

I enjoyed Jon Stewart also. He's a funny fellow, who also looks quite warm [a very desireable characteristic to us cats!]
