Mrs. Peeps really needs to get a life...

Ever since watching the movie Hustle & Flow for the Oscars, Mrs. Peeps cannot get THAT song out of her head. Every waking moment, the lyrics go bouncing and bounding around in her head. She had a brief respite last week, then Ms. Not An Artist started singing THAT song during the Knutty Knitter yarn swap, and it's been there ever since. True, it's got a catchy little hook, but enough is enough!

Jordan Houstan, Cedric Coleman and Paul Beauregard (aka Three 6 Mafia), from Memphis, wrote the charming ditty "It's Hard Out Here for a Pimp", for which they won an Academy Award for Best Music (Song). The trio performed live at the Oscars, the first time a rap group had performed live at the Academy Awards. They toned down their lyrics for the live broadcast upon request from the producers. Apparently, according to People magazine, they were not at all bothered by the request - they were so excited to be nominated and performing at the awards show that if the producer had asked them to change the lyrics to "It's hard out there for a bunny rabbit", they gladly would have.

Which got Mrs. Peeps to thinking, perhaps that might make a good, even better song (and hence we come to the point of today's post). She often calls me her "little bunny rabbit" (don't ask me why, it makes sense to her!), so she rewrote it just for me...

Out with the old!

You know it's hard out here for a pimp
When he tryin to get this money for the rent
For the Cadillacs and gas money spent
Will have a whole lot of bitches talkin shit

In with the new!

You know it's hard out here for a bunny
When she trying to get the money for a rep
Who can take this star to the next step
And make this little rabbit a real big hit

Damn. I am sorry about that.

On the plus side, you've gotten it re-stuck in my head ;) This is going to be one of those vicious circle things, isn't it?
