Denim Refuge

My sincere apologies to all my regular blog readers for my brief hiatus. I would go on and on about how Mrs. Peeps, my so-called trusty scribe, let me down YET AGAIN, but she has informed me that my lugubrious manner is unbecoming. Well then.

So let me tell you instead how I came to be ensconced in this denim refuge. This week has been a busy one. I know it is hard for you to believe this since my blog has been spectacularly uneventful, but it has been a revolving door at the House of Peeps. In fact, there have been many more peeps than usual. Big peeps, little peeps, tall peeps, peeps of every flavour. You see, a very lovely gentleman in Mrs. Peep's family passed away, and East met West as Mrs. Peep's father came from Vancouver and Mrs. Peep's aunt came from Belleville, and they all collided with even more peeps in North York in order to celebrate the memory of this gentle peep and attend various events in his honour. Then the tide came in from the North as Mr. Peep's family arrived for a visit. Mi casa es su casa. There were so many peeps, my head was spinning! Hence the denim refuge and lack of blogging.

I'd like to promise you that we will be returning to our regular blogging schedule shortly, however, at the risk of being accused of whinging or worse, I must say I fear the worst as Mrs. Peeps starts her new job on Tuesday. I am also afraid she may be slightly addled as she has prematurely sold our furniture -- right out from under me! One minute I was sitting on my favorite chair, the next it was whisked away. This plan seems to be a bad one, and very poorly executed at that; we're not moving for a month! Hopefully she doesn't get too crackbrained and sell the computer or something...

Keep your fingers crossed for me!

Sorry for your loss but it sounds like a wonderful celebration of a life. Take heart, Koko. The peeps who surround you sound very nice.

So many life changes all at once. I'm sorry to hear about your loss as well.

You started a new job too?

Oh, I was wondering why the absence! Sorry to hear about recent life upheavals and losses, we'll have to have our own mini-pub-night and drown our sorrows in beer & knits.

Thank you all for your kind thoughts! My great Uncle Norbert was a lovely and interesting gentleman, and he will be greatly missed by his family. He designed the first Tim Hortons! Interesting note for the OCADers, his daughter graduated from OCA in the late 60s and is quite a well known artist out west and his grandson is a recent graduate of Alberta College of Art & Design and is currently completing a residency at Banff!

My new job starts Tuesday! The most challenging part will be choosing which office to work in and when since I will have two offices, two phones, two computers, two sets of staff, etc! Luckily it's all in the same workplace, even if different buildings...Ms. Knaughty Knitter - I HOPE you will come and rain on my parade {ha ha, a awkward metaphor, but you know what I mean ;)}
