Imagine you're me, with your nose pressed up against the window screen...this is what you'd see: mid-Toronto, south-facing view, sunset. We live in a pretty tony neighborhood, surrounded lots of luxury rentals/condos. In the white building with all the lattice work type architecture, two bedroom suites cost upwards of $2600 per month! Our building is a little bit older, and more non-descript - and much more affordable! We are the riff -raff on the street! (And proud of it!)
Ms. Blonde One lives 5 floors up, and her view is slightly better. She can see Casa Loma and a beautiful church on St. Clair Avenue. She never tires of rubbing it in that she has a better view.
Personally I used to prefer our view. Just below our windows was beautiful landscaping with a water fountain, gazebo and plenty of trees graced by songbirds. Now however, it's a different story...
Construction. Yes, it must be summer in Canada since construction and summer are synonymous. If you've ever wondered how they make a parking lot ceiling, here's how! Our beautiful landscaped yards and our parking lot have been out of commission for almost 8 weeks, with 8 more to go... my birds have disappeared! And to add insult to injury, I am subjected to diesel fumes and racous noise on a daily basis!
I tell you, it's tough being me. Maybe someone will bring me cake to lift my spirits...

Pfft. I see your 16 weeks of construction and raise you 4 YEARS of construction in my backyard. Actually it may be a bit longer... construction is just the loudest of my regular neighbours.
koko - your demands for cake will overwhelm me...will you settle for cookies? or maybe carrots?
Ms. Blonde One: Cake. Get Busy.
I think you have a great view! Ok, maybe not as great as the last place, but still great!
What's this I hear about Mrs. Peeps getting Kelly to knit her a sweater? Koko, do me a favour and give her a good swift swat with your paw for me. Sooner or later that woman is going to have to take the garment plunge!
Hey Yvette! Mrs. Peeps only learned to knit in February, and as far as she is concerned, scarfs and hats and shawls are garments! She'll get there in time...she says to ask you how long it took you to try socks?!? :)
My, my, this is getting ugly. Malcolm would get involved except that he's under the weather with a mystery gastro-intestinal ailment that requires buying extremely expensive food which we all hope will help.
So, you can see that I'm on edge. Mrs. Peeps knows I love her. I just like to stir the pot now and then.
